Ngila Farm is located in the Karatu district on the slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater and is surrounded by the Ngila Forest Reserve. It was founded in the 20th century by a German family and after World War II it was taken over by British farmers whosold it to the German Meyer family in 1990. Since then, the farm has grown, irrigation technology and new processing facilities have been installed. For more than 10 years, Ngila has been recognised as one of the best Arabica roasts from the Ngorongoro Crater. The water from the Endoro stream, which comes from the Ngorongoro National Park and irrigates the coffee trees, is of high quality, contains many minerals and has a very positive effect on Ngila coffee.
