Espresso coffee machines have come a long way in more than a hundred years of their existence, and today's are far removed from their predecessors in terms of design and performance. However, it is not the case that you can simply buy basically any espresso machine and you can look forward to a cup of first-class drink.
Choose carefully, take expert advice and accept that a cheap automatic or lever coffee machine, unable to take into account the coarseness of the ground coffee or the time it takes for the water to flow through the coffee, simply won't make a great espresso. It would be like turning up to the start of Formula 1 in a mediocre passenger car and getting your hopes up for a podium. You simply need adequate equipment to brew real Italian espresso.
If you don't have a lot of space at home or you travel a lot, a manual coffee machine is the right choice. Another advantage is that you don't need an electrical power supply to operate it. So not only will you save on electricity, but you will also be more environmentally friendly.
If you prefer a simple process, don't want to give up the intoxicating aroma of freshly ground coffee, and would rather have a full mug than a small cup, take a look at our range of filter coffee machines. There may not be an ideal form of coffee, but you're pretty sure to discover a coffee and a coffee maker that will completely fulfill your fantasies.
The Great Coffee Revolution - the birth of espresso
Although coffee beans arrived in Europe in the 17th century and grew rapidly in popularity, the now popular espresso had to wait until the early 20th century to be born. A strong black coffee prepared by applying intense pressure of hot water to ground espresso beans, espresso was first brewed by Italian businessman Luigi Bezzera.
And in the beginning there was nothing but the dissatisfaction of a hurried businessman who wanted his fresh coffee on the table quickly. He found that by pressurising the water into the ground coffee, the drink was ready sooner. And much stronger too, able to perfectly accentuate the quality of the coffee used. You can buy the successor to the Leverless Lever Coffee Makers here. It is certainly worth mentioning that in the case of some models, it is still handmade.
The original presses were called "Fast Coffee Machine" and at the same time, unfortunately, they are not associated so much with the name of the original discoverer, but rather with the iconic personality of Desidero Pavoni, who bought the rights to produce the so-called "fast coffee" from Bezzera coffee machine" and had everything patented right away. We also offer modern Pavoni products and you can't go wrong buying them. They still stick to the original design from the 1950s and have become a real legend among coffee machines, not only within the Italian provenance, but worldwide.
