It usually contains whole leaves or large chunks of leaves that gradually release their aroma and flavour as they are steeped. On the other hand, bagged tea is often made up of small particles of leaves or even dust, which can lead to a less balanced taste and lower quality beverage.

Traditional methods, such as hand-picking and selecting the best leaves, play a critical role in the production of quality loose-leaf tea. These methods ensure that only the best and ripest leaves make it into the final product, which has a direct impact on the richness and depth of flavour of the tea.
