Café equipment

Are you setting up your own café? What you could, but shouldn't forget...

This topic would make a book, so we'll try to focus on the details that you may not have thought of yet and add some great tips for choosing specific products.

We're assuming at this point that you have an establishment and a range of basic equipment, quite possibly an architect to help you with all of this. But the key question is...

DOES YOUR CAFÉ HAVE ANY THEMES?

If you have to appeal to your customers, you not only need a welcoming environment and top-notch coffee, but you could also use some overlap in the form of an interesting interior design that will keep people coming back and looking forward.

Some people go for a minimalist style, others are drawn to a cosy, almost family-like atmosphere. The theme of a café often says a lot about its owner. You will find cat cafés, establishments that are dog-friendly, cosy cafés reminiscent of period antique shops or, on the contrary, futuristic design.

Whether your café evokes the atmosphere of sunny Provence or catches the eye with simple lines, industrial or rustic style, you should also think about:

  • buying a functional and easy-to-use POS system;
  • providing a quality Wi-Fi connection;
  • the ability to provide adequate heating in the winter and cooling in the summer;
  • providing cups and other disposable equipment if you will be offering take-away coffee;
  • a refrigerated display case if you plan to offer desserts;
  • security and CCTV system (especially if you have an establishment in a larger city or in a not-so-safe neighborhood).

As for details closely related to the main product range, i.e. coffee:

  • the absolute basis is, of course, a professional coffee machine;
  • and great coffee.

But here are a number of small details without which your customers wouldn't get the very best coffee:

We wish you luck in choosing staff who will do their job with love. They say that people can come together for a good cause. And when that good thing is good coffee, it's doubly true.
