Rwanda Rushashi is here! What does Nordbeans roastery say about it?

The Mutitu processing plant has been in operation since 1963. Today, it provides processing for the 1,250 members of the cooperative, who usually own only about a fifth of a hectare of land. But they all operate in the heart of the famous Kirinyaga region, even at the foot of Africa's second highest mountain, Mount Kenya. Moreover, thanks to the volcanic bedrock, all the local coffee trees have an ample supply of mineral nutrients. So, after the traditional Kenyan double wash, you are now in for a wonderful lot of pearl beans with blackcurrant and citrus character. The pearl beans themselves are created by developing only one bean in the cherry instead of two, which is smaller and rounder - reminiscent of pearls! We selected the mutita ourselves last year at Dormans Coffee's lab in Nairobi. Thanks to the vacuum packing of the green bean, it is still as juicy as when we first tasted it in Kenya.
