When the coffee is green...

…color, it means nothing other than that these are unroasted coffee beans. These have attracted attention in recent years due to their numerous positive effects on human health.

Even we, as staunch fans of quality roasted coffee, could not have missed that coffee beans in their original – raw – form have a lot to offer. What can you and what should you not expect?

Don't expect coffee in the typical sense

The drink made from green coffee is more reminiscent of herbal tea and has a much milder taste. It also differs from standard black coffee in its composition and thus potential effects on our organism. Above all, green coffee retains a higher proportion of antioxidants, which are closely related to the body's ability to effectively fight inflammatory processes.

Are there any side effects?

In general, it is use of green coffee (as drink or extract) relatively safe. But of course you have to take into account the caffeine content. 250 ml of green coffee drink contains around 100 mg of caffeine, while according to experts, the safe daily dose for a healthy adult is up to 400 mg. However, the body's sensitivity to caffeine can be very individual and there are people who experience unpleasant effects even at lower doses.

There are currently no known side effects, but it is necessary to use green coffee in moderation. Since it contains more caffeine than standard roasted coffee, it can also serve as a quality natural substitute for various energy drinks. However, due to the high caffeine content, we cannot recommend green coffee to pregnant women, children under 16, or people with blood pressure problems or diabetics.
