Green coffee is highly sought after today, particularly for its positive effects on weight loss. These are unroasted coffee beans, which—unlike traditional roasted beans—are harder yet more pliable. They also contain substances that are lost during the roasting process. The main substance is chlorogenic acid, an antioxidant that, together with caffeine, prevents the absorption of sugar and its subsequent conversion into fat.
According to scientists, this acid may also help reduce the risk of developing diabetes or reduce cellulite. In men, it can also help lower the risk of gallstones.
