Mothership is a complex yet approachable espresso blend that has won the hearts of professional baristas and home coffee enthusiasts alike. It features a full, creamy body, subtle milk chocolate in the taste and an elegant floral aroma. Thanks to its balanced profile, it is perfect for making classic espresso and as a base for milk drinks such as cappuccino or flatwhite.
This blend combines two carefully selected coffees - one from Uganda and one from Ethiopia. Each brings its own unique characteristics to the cup, and together they create a harmonious whole.
Uganda - Upper Bukyabo (Coffee Gardens)
Since 2017, the Coffee Gardens project has focused on transparent and sustainable coffee farming. The coffee is sourced from high mountain areas and processed by fermenting without water for 20 hours. It is then washed with cool mountain spring water, dried on African beds in solar dryers and hand-sorted in twelve steps. The result is a clean, elegant and juicy ingredient with good texture.
Ethiopia - Hambela and Uraga (Kuri Mountain Coffee)
A family-run farm dating back to 1945, today it works with over 400 farmers in the Guji region. The coffee for this blend has been selected very uniquely - from purchased dried cherries (called jenfel) that meet strict criteria for colour, aroma and ripeness. The coffee cherries were then peeled, polished and prepared for export in a modern plant in Addis Ababa.
