What is aeropress?

Aeropress is a handheld coffee machine that allows you to enjoy delicious filter coffee anywhere. Don't be fooled by its simple design, this is the kind of machine that many coffee lovers can't get enough of.

How does the aeropress work?

Aeropress works as alternative brewing very simply. The coffee is prepared in it manually, by pressing the plunger. The Aeropress consists of two cylinders, the first of which is attached together with the filter to the top of the cup. The pre-ground coffee is poured inside, then covered with hot water. A second cylinder is then inserted, which is used to press the coffee extract into the cup.

What about the disadvantages? The main con with the Aeropress is the need to use coffee filters. In case you run out, you can't prepare your coffee properly. If you don't feel comfortable constantly buying paper filters, it is possible to get a metal filter. This is easy to wash and works just as well as the paper version.

How to choose the best aeropress

Aeropress is a very simple device, so there are not so many differences between the different models. It is important to think about where you will be using your aeropress. If it's primarily for the home environment or perhaps the office, size won't matter as much. You won't be moving the aeropress as often, so you can get a larger capacity version.

Aeropress GO, on the other hand, is a travel-friendly option. This aeropress has a smaller volume, but all the accessories can be conveniently packed into a compact package. The Aeropress is a very good companion for the traveller and coffee lover. It is possible to go to a well-equipped hotel and camping in the complete wilderness with it, and still make excellent coffee.
