Preparation instructions
The basic procedure is simple and customizable to taste. The recommended ratio is approximately 1:15-1:17 (coffee:water) and the water temperature is 85-96 °C. Try two common methods:
Standard (classic)
- Insert the filter, pour in the ground coffee, pour in some water and let it "bloom" briefly.
- Add water, stir briefly and after approximately 30-45 seconds slowly depress the plunger.
Inverted
- Start with an inverted chamber, pour in the coffee and pour. After a short extraction, invert the chamber and finish by pressing.
- This procedure gives a stronger, fuller cup with easier control of the brewing time.
Flavour profile
The resulting coffee tends to be clean, with a clear presence of aroma and a smooth body. The method brings out the coffee's fruity and floral notes, reducing astringency and delivering a smoother finish. Using the coarseness of the grind and the length of extraction, you can easily tune the intensity and character of the drink.
Maintenance
- After use, simply empty the contents, rinse the chamber and plunger under warm water.
- The silicone seal is easy to replace; regular cleaning extends the lifetime.
