The Yirgacheffe region of southern Ethiopia is known as the cradle of fine and complex coffees. It is grown without chemical sprays and with respect for the local ecosystem. At an altitude of 1 995-2 020 m above sea level, on soils rich in volcanic minerals, coffee trees enjoy ideal conditions. The cooler climate and higher shade mean that the cherries ripen more slowly, which enhances their flavour profile.

Negele Gorbitu coffee is a blend of Ethiopian Kurume, Dega and Wolisho varieties , which are characterised by their delicate, floral and fruity flavours. The hand-picked cherries undergo anaerobic dry fermentation in sealed stainless steel vessels without access to oxygen, developing a complex flavor and fuller body. They are then dried in the sun and turned regularly to ensure even drying without the risk of mould.
