This exceptional selection of coffee comes from the El Cambalache farm in the Dipilto region of northern Nicaragua (about 1350 m above sea level). Farmer Samuel Zavala is known for his lot of Maracaturra Honey, which won 2nd place in the Cup of Excellence Nicaragua 2021 competition, confirming the exceptional quality of his beans. A cross between Maragogype and Caturra, Maracaturra is characterised by its large grains and rich flavour profile. Thanks to gentle honey processing (partial fermentation with the pulp preserved and slow drying in the sun), the coffee acquires a strong natural sweetness and a juicy fruity character. Already in the aroma there is a floral note and a sweetness reminiscent of marzipan. The taste develops ripe yellow melon with honeyed juiciness, accompanied by a bright citrus trace of tangerine. The aftertaste is long and sweet, with a refreshingly sparkling acidity that keeps the flavour profile lively and balanced.
