MamaCoffee
The Coffee Yard (TCY) is a small company based in Mbale, Uganda, founded in 2018 by a group of women with the support of Norman Mukuru. The company is built on the values of quality and women empowerment. Today, TCY is led by two female directors and the management team is 75% women.
TCY works with a network of smallholder farmers from whom it buys ripe coffee cherries. These are processed at the Sironko plant and finalised in Mbale, where a team led by Maria Kirya creates tailored flavour profiles for customers. With a state-of-the-art colour sorter, TCY delivers high-quality, graded coffee beans.
