The area is renowned for its nutrient-rich volcanic bedrock, high altitude and stable climate, which together create an ideal environment for growing fine coffee. The Cyesha processing plant, where the coffee originates, is located at 1550 m above sea level and works in partnership with local farmers. They grow the Bourbon variety, appreciated for its rich flavour and aroma, with a focus on quality and sustainability.
This coffee is processed using the dry method (natural), whereby after harvesting the coffee cherries are dried in the sun on African beds for 20-30 days. This allows the sweet and fruity notes to fully develop and penetrate the beans, creating a unique flavour profile with rich fruity and sweet nuances.
