This specialty coffee comes from the Yirgacheffe Gedeb region of Ethiopia, one of the most sought-after coffee-growing areas in the country. The coffee cherries were processed at the Gedeb Gotiti station, which is located at a high altitude and benefits from a favorable microclimate as well as a long local tradition of coffee cultivation. Coffee trees here grow at elevations ranging from 1,995 to 2,020 meters above sea level, which slows the ripening of the cherries and promotes the development of pronounced sweetness, complex aromas, and fresh fruitiness.
The coffee is a blend of the local Ethiopian varieties Kurume, Dega, and Wolisho, which are known for their diverse range of flavors and aromas. As a result, fruity, floral, and subtly spicy notes can shine through in the cup.
The cherries were processedusing the natural method, in which they are dried whole, including the pulp. This processing method highlights the coffee’s natural sweetness and juicy fruitiness, giving it a fuller, pleasantly smooth texture.
