When thinking of Cuba, one should not only recall cigars but also one of the most amazing coffees that guarantees a truly gourmet experience. Coffee from Cuba possesses extraordinary qualities, primarily due to the iron-copper soil rich in clay, which imparts an unforgettable taste and aroma. Thanks to the tropical humid Caribbean climate, coffee thrives here incredibly well. The plantations are tended by villagers, who usually own small plots of land. The local coffee is now particularly popular in France and Japan, where up to 70% of the total production is exported.
Origin of the coffee: More than 90% of the total production of Cuban coffee comes from the southeastern part of the island, where the Sierra Maestra mountains are located. Coffee trees are mostly grown in the hills on terraces. Unlike other coffees from Central America, coffee in Cuba is grown at lower altitudes, around 900 m above sea level. As a result, it has nearly zero acidity.
Taste of the coffee: Lavado boasts nearly zero acidity but also a rich, full body. The flavor is pleasantly smooth and sweet. Characteristic notes of bitter chocolate and caramel are complemented by hints of nuttiness. It has a rich aroma with a slight smoky undertone.

Great coffee in terms of body and finish, no acidity, and a smooth, full-bodied flavor—I really enjoyed it. However, I also like a more pronounced flavor at the start, so I blend it half and half with Santos or Guatemala, which further reduces its already low acidity...And ever since then, the coffee has been divine :-D...thanks for it :-)

The potential for a good flavor is largely overshadowed by the dark roast, resulting in a rather average cup of coffee.
An exclusive bean—Cuban coffee is the best. And it’s processed to perfection—roasted just right. Just enough to give the coffee a bold flavor, but not so much that the roast overpowers all the coffee’s flavor notes. I recommend this coffee to absolutely everyone. It’s not acidic, it smells wonderful, and the flavor is truly intense.
The only minor drawback is the packaging: the bottom is pointed, so the bag doesn’t stand up, and the top lacks a resealable closure. For a one-kilogram package, this would greatly improve convenience in storage and use.
