Miners coffee capsules are designed for use with NESPRESSO® coffee machines. Our goal is to offer great coffee to everyone, anywhere, anytime, with respect for nature.

The capsules are made from organic food and have a TUV certificate of compostability. This means they are safe for home composting.

COFFEE STORY:

Silvio and Sítio Alto Ar Farm

Silvio has already gone through many challenges in his life, which eventually led him to a choice coffee. In his story, he recalls his difficult childhood, when his father worked late into the night to earn extra money to support his family.

In 1990, at the age of 15, Silvio moved to Belo Horizonte, the capital of the state of Minas Gerais, to find a job to help with his family's financial situation. Unfortunately, he was not very lucky and instead found that life in the capital could bring even more new challenges. Due to the severe lack of job opportunities, one of the obstacles eventually became just earning enough money to eat alone.

So he went back to the family farm and started his own coffee journey, mostly providing services as a laborer to his neighbors. After many years of hard work, a desire to make a difference in his family's quality of life and to support the networks of nearby smallholders, Silvio finally bought his own farm.

However, being able to produce quality anaerobic coffee took some time. At first, he mostly tried to produce coffee in sufficient quantities to provide for his family's finances, but he knew that quantity would not be the path to higher income. The beginning of it all was the end of pesticides.

For the past five years, the farm has been pesticide-free, has perfected anaerobic fermentation techniques and strives to produce the highest quality coffees possible. In addition, they are also careful to ensure selective harvesting, uniform drying and proper handling of the coffee after harvest.

Thanks to the production of these coffees, Silvio and his family can finally enjoy a better life. Silvio says he is very proud to feel that people like his coffee. Thanks to the continuous improvement of production and our collaboration, this year Silvio was able to finish his house close to the farm and in the neighborhood they love the most.

Processing:

The coffee was processed through anaerobic fermentation. The cherries went through a 9-day fermentation process in sealed airtight barrels. This process helps certain specific microbes survive in an airless environment, creating the possibility of some unique flavors that are unprecedented in Brazilian coffees.
