Simple, elegant and yet extremely practical and high quality, this is the Hario Skeron PLUS manual coffee grinder from the Japanese brand Hario. This grinder has several pro's that will make your buying decision very quick.
Thanks to its ergonomic shape , the grinder is very easy to hold in the hand and grinding is very comfortable. The bottom of the grinder is equipped with a non-slip pad made of durable rubber, which will ensure that the grinder will not bounce when you grind, even on slippery surfaces. The transparent glass container for ground coffee is equipped with a lid, so you can use it to store your coffee for later use. It can hold up to 100g of coffee.
A big plus is the very easy to adjust grinding coarseness, which can be adjusted by simply turning the nut under the handle, either clockwise or anti-clockwise. The grinding mechanism is made of ceramic, and is very easy to wash.
Like other Hario products, the Skerton PLUS grinder is made of high quality stainless steel and there is a high proportion of handmade work.
In contrast to the original version the Hario Skerton PLUS is equipped with a stabilising plate on the bottom stone for even more precise grinding. Now in an elegant black finish.

Both my daughter and I use the grinder, and we're both happy with it
I’ve been using this grinder for about 5 years based on a recommendation from the store, and during that time I’ve come to understand both its pros and cons. I’ll start with the pros. The grinder’s appearance is a matter of personal taste, but I personally find it very well-designed. The entire unit is easy to take apart and easy to clean under running water. Cons. The grinder is housed in a rubber sleeve so it can be easily propped up against a table, for example, and ground by hand. The rubber sleeve slips easily and doesn’t serve its purpose very well. I actually threw it away after a few uses and now hold the grinder in one hand. This grinding method is practically unusable for women due to the wide base of the lower container; women’s smaller hands cannot wrap around it. Because of this grinding method, beans sometimes fly out of the container through the top slit near the central axis. The grinding mechanism itself heats up more when grinding larger amounts of coffee, and with doses exceeding 3–4 espressos, the grinding stones become clogged, which reduces their grinding effectiveness. Of course, this depends on the grind size, but even at the coarseness intended for a moka pot, this issue is a problem. After many years of use, I switched to a different grinder model from another manufacturer and discovered that this Hario Skerton Plus grinds very slowly compared to the competition. The icing on the cake of this grinder’s flaws is the grind setting system. Setting the grind to the correct consistency requires a great deal of patience, manual strength, and ideally a pair of combination pliers to sufficiently tighten the locking nut, which often loosens with the typical grip of a woman’s hand, further hindering the already inefficient grinding. I cannot recommend this grinder.
Very good. Fast delivery.
