Producer
Siruma Coffee was founded five years ago with the goal of bringing high-quality Colombian coffee from the Cauca, Caldas, and Tolima regions to the global market. It focuses primarily on collaborating with indigenous communities, helping them sell and export their coffee. An important part of its philosophy is transparency, fairness, and support for local growers.
The name Siruma comes from the indigenous Wayuunaiki language and means “sky and heavens.” The name of the ATUNKAA coffee has the same origin and can be translated as “sleep and drowsy dreams.”
The coffee undergoes a gentle decaffeination process at the DESCAFENOL plant, which uses a natural extract from sugarcane. This sustainable method helps preserve the characteristic flavor and aroma of the coffee beans even without caffeine.
Variety
Castillo is one of the most widespread coffee varieties in Colombia. It stands out primarily for its high resistance to coffee rust and its compact growth habit, which allows for denser planting and higher yields even on smaller plots. Thanks to its productivity and excellent flavor potential, it plays a significant role in Colombian coffee production.
