The grinder has a minimalist design, is compact and made of fingerprint-resistant plastic. The coffee can be ground in a container or directly into the portalifter. The grinder is equipped with two containers - a larger one for pour-over brewing methods and a smaller espresso dispenser with a diameter that fits most portafilters (54 mm diameter and an additional adapter to increase the diameter to 58 mm). Grinding is triggered by a pulse grind button, giving you full control over the amount of coffee ground. In addition, the Encore ESP grinder is equipped with an ON/OFF switch.
Grinding coarseness adjustment
The Encore ESP offers 40 adjustable grind coarseness levels, from very fine to coarse. The range between 1 and 20 is suitable for espresso preparation, a major difference from the basic version, which doesn't allow for such fine adjustment steps for espresso, but it grinds well for espresso too! The setting between 21 and 40 is ideal for pour over methods such as Chemex, AeroPress, dripper, vaccum pot or French press. Regardless of the grind coarseness setting, the grinder has low retention - only a minimal amount of ground coffee remains in the grinder.
Grinding parts
The grinding parts of the Encore ESP grinder are made in Europe and are conical steel M2 grinding parts with a diameter of 40 mm, ensuring the consistent and precise grind required for espresso and all preparation methods. The conical grinding part of the Encore ESP grinder is easily removable without the use of additional tools, making cleaning and maintenance easy.
Motor
A powerful, high-torque DC motor effortlessly drives the grinding parts. This motor rotates slowly, ensuring cool and quiet operation and allowing for long grinding cycles. The wiring is equipped with an automatically resettable thermal disconnect switch.
