We can rightfully call the moka pot Bialetti Moka Express the queen of all moka coffee makers. It has been produced in the same design for more than 80 years and has become the best-selling moka pot in the world. If you're wondering who is behind the "little man with a mustache" that you see on every model, it is the likeness of Alfonso Bialetti, who invented the moka pot in 1933. He simply wanted to distinguish his products, so why not with his little character :-)
Bialetti Moka Express is made from food-grade aluminum and the comfortable handle is plastic. Aluminum cookware is often unpopular, but in this case that is unfounded. The inside of the coffee maker develops a patina over time and absorbs the taste of coffee. It is precisely because of this flavour and the simplicity of the whole mechanism that Bialetti pots are so popular worldwide.
