Rebelbean has prepared coffee from Peru for us for the second year. This part of the country has a rather drier climate, which is not so suitable for coffee. However, the Masma region is situated at a higher altitude and as a result the microclimate is more humid with greater temperature fluctuations between day and night, which is ideal for coffee. Due to the more abundant growing conditions, farmers do not limit themselves to growing coffee, but also fruits and vegetables such as; passion fruit, avocados, rocoto (a mixture of tomato and peppers) or even peaches.

After harvesting, the cherries are peeled and the beans are then fermented for 36 hours in concrete tanks to loosen the residual pulp from the beans. At the last stage, the grains are washed with clean water and prepared for drying.
