Rebelbean
Duromina means "to improve their lives". It sounds fabulous and like a constantly repeated coffee cliché, but this example speaks for itself. Prior to the establishment of this cooperative (2010), you would have been hard pressed to find coffee from this area on the menus of the choice coffee roasters. But just as the name of the cooperative suggests, there was a huge untapped potential, so with the help of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, this cooperative was created, the quality of the picking was improved and, most importantly, a wet processing station was built. Two years later, Duromina won the regional coffee competition and was awarded the best processing plant.
