Christmas Coffee Costa Rica Tarrazu, Arabica 250g
Christmas in a cup! Coffee from the famous Tarrazu region delights with its balance and finesse. Chocolate and caramel notes intertwine in the taste with hints of nuts and spices.
Coffee and bananas are the two main exports that most of us associate with Costa Rica, a country located in Central America, washed by the Caribbean Sea to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. As early as 1779, the first coffee trees were brought here from Ethiopia and the first large-scale coffee production in the world began. Today, coffee accounts for approximately 1/4 of foreign trade earnings. Costa Rica takes great pride in the quality of the coffee it produces, which is one of the reasons why the cultivation of robusta is banned in the country.
Origin of coffee: Costa Rica Tarrazu gets its name from the region where the best and most famous coffee plantations are located, Tarrazu. It is located about 80 km south of the capital San José and our coffee is grown here at an altitude of about 1600 m above sea level. The taste and aroma of one of the most famous coffees in the world is a combination of acidic soils from extinct volcanoes, tropical sun, gentle sea winds and the fact that there are about 100 times more coffee trees than inhabitants. Therefore, every plant can be given the utmost care, love and effort.
The taste of coffee: Tarrazu is characterised by its incredible balance. Immediately after the first sip, you will notice spicy chocolate notes accompanied by a caramel aroma, followed by a rich harmonious body that is accompanied by a nutty flavour. The coffee is mild, only slightly acidic, and is highly sought after for its characteristics, especially by women and those just starting out with quality coffees from the world's most renowned plantations.
