Coffee roasted every week

The new issue of Standard covers a diverse range of topics aimed at bridging the gap between baristas and coffee professionals, coffee drinkers and home baristas, and those who simply want to enjoy a pleasant moment in a café.

In the "Coffee" chapter, we continue with our series comparing coffee and tea - this time taking a closer look at processing methods, followed by an article on what of the tea ritual can be applied to coffee. From there we move on to remote Guatemala, a country made up of over 300 microclimates, and look at how this affects coffee production. We conclude the chapter with an extensive essay on the current price crisis and what led to it.

The"People" chapter is filled with stories about the people who make up the coffee industry - from interviews with world-renowned roasters Stephen Leighton and Joanna Alm, to accounts of life in New York, to Tim Williams' beautifully rendered reminiscence of life lessons.

In the "World" chapter, we interview book historian Geri Della Rocco de Candio about his recent exhibition on the 15th-century printing revolution. We then look at the strange relationship between coffee and stand-up comedy, and learn a few jokes along the way. We'll then move on to Paris for a walk through the political and cultural history of the French capital - all through the eyes of coffee, and we'll finish it all off with a story about solitude, creation and coffee.

As always, we are delighted to bring this original selection of written text along with unique illustrations and photographs into your homes and local coffee shops. We wish you an enjoyable read!
