And what does the Rebelbean roastery say about the coffee?

The name of this village will resonate with some of you. In fact, the coffee from Las Pirias was the pilot version of our Underdog edition last year! And this year, we've stayed true to it and the participating farmers. The mix of producers is different this year, and the lot itself is also larger (15 last year, 26 bags / 1794 kg this year), but it still fulfills the main idea, which is to bring together more farmers and their smaller lots from a harvest that would be hardly, if ever, marketable on its own, and thus more cash proceeds from the harvest. We bought the whole thing outright, I think that's obvious... These farmers in particular were involved in the lot: Juan Espinoza Carhuajulca, Edimson Facundo Castillo, Leonardo Peña Manchay, Eli Espinoza Soberon, Lisaura Saucedo Bautista, Jose Albaro Arce Diaz and Jose Osmar Olano Oblitas.

This coffee is just a heartbreaker and probably always will be. The flavour is again very balanced and rich. Expect a lighter citrus acidity, sweetness moving from apples, pears to caramel, but also a super supple full body (hence the milkshake in the description) and a subtle herbaceousness that is quite intrinsic to Peru.
