What does the Nordbeans roastery have to say about coffee?
"Kenyan coffees are back! Mwiria AA comes from our favourite location - the foot of Mt. Kenya. This year we selected the coffees together with Per Nordby, who spent a total of 4 months in Kenya in spring 2020 (2 planned, 2 unplanned due to COVID-19). The Mwiria plant is the oldest of the 3 processing plants that fall under the Central Gandori Farmers' Cooperative Society - CGFCS. Manager Patrick Nyaga manages the entire process in a proven manner. Farmers bring the cherries they have picked to the plant where CGFCDS staff re-inspect and sort them according to quality. The kernels are then shelled from the cherry and go into a fermentation tank for 48 hours. They are then washed in clean water from the Rupingazia River and returned to the tank for another 12 hours. Then they are left to dry on African beds. For the start of the Kenyan season, we are introducing a top quality AA lot with our beloved flavour profile of currant, raspberry and grape."
