Lavado coffee from the mountains of south-eastern Cuba will surprise you almost zero acidity and a distinctive taste of dark chocolate and caramel.
In connection with Cuba, apart from cigars, we should also think of one of the most amazing coffees, which guarantees a truly gourmet experience. The coffee from Cuba has extraordinary qualities, thanks to the iron-copper soil full of clay, which gives it a unique taste and aroma. Thanks to the tropical, humid Caribbean climate, coffee thrives here. The plantations are cultivated by villagers who usually own small patches of land. Today, the coffee is particularly popular in France and Japan, where up to 70 elk are exported.
Origin of coffee: More than 90 ells of Cuba's coffee production comes from the southeastern part of the island, where the Sierra Maestra mountain range is located. The coffee trees here are mostly grown in the semi-shade of the hills. Unlike other coffees from the Central American region, Cuba's coffee is grown at a lower altitude, around 900 metres above sea level.
Lavado boasts of almost zero acidity but also a rich and full body. The taste is pleasantly smooth and sweet. It is characterised by strong notes of dark chocolate and caramel with a hint of nutty notes. It has a rich aroma and you can also detect a slightly smoky note.
